Flipping through the pages of my note
My eyes stumbled on this question I wrote
“What account to God am I going to give?”
On this question I began to ponder
At my life I began to wonder
What account to God am I going to give?
On that appointed day of judgment
Will there be room for any adjustment?
What account to God am I going to give?
Will my account on that day acquit me?
Or will it on that day condemn me ?
What account to God am I going to give?
Like a play child will I have incessant joy?
For whom the father bought a pleasant toy
What account to God am I going to give?
Am I living the life eternally designed?
Am I doing the work my Creator assigned?
What account to God am I going to give?
As a sojourner on earth am I not distracted?
By worldly marked beauty am I not attracted?
What account to God am I going to give?
On the pathway of life am I still walking?
Of my Saviour and Lord Jesus am I still talking?
What account to God am I going to give?
If given to more deeper thought this heart of mine
There will be more questions to add to this wake up lines.
I’m examining my own life
If You’d also sincerely examine Your own life
With well understood knowledge of God’s appointed day
All unrighteousness none will have to tell You to keep at bay.
Self examination today can be done
You have self knowledge like none
From this life when You are gone
What account to God are You going to give?
Have You begun the heavenly race to run?
Or You’re still clinging to deadly damning fun?
When it vanishes into darkness Your life’s sun
What account to God are You going to give?
What would be Your account?
What would be my account?
Let us seek to have a God pleasing account to give
Seeking His grace, strength and power to rightly live
As designed and assigned by him.
A day has been appointed by the Eternal God
A day when all shall stand before Christ judgement seat
A day when we shall give account of ourselves unto the Lord
Oh that day has been appointed by God.
